24 hrs of HALL ARSE
Saturday I had a list of things to do for not only myself, but a to-do list from my Web Mistress… More cyber-long-shots for me, that surely would have left me stressed out, and longing to be outside… But the Wild called. I hurriedly filled my pack with enough to get me through the night, then on top, whatever gown would fit… However strange, this IS my life now…
It wasn’t until 4 p.m. that I finally headed north, to the most beautiful territory in Eastern WA. Just miles from the Canadian Border, and down the road from a dying little town with little left beyond the nearby Mine. If you’ve ever watched the Kevin Costner bomb, the Postman, You can catch a glimpse of Metaline Falls nestled in the mountains along the Pend Oreille River (pronounced Pond -Er- ay).
Too late to climb the 7 mile route, I cheated and drove up to the trailhead, and enjoyed a short one hour, two and a half mile, 800 vertical foot trek to the top of Hall Mountain. I arrived just in time for sunset, camera in hand, taking in the sights and sounds with 360 views, little critters rustling about getting readying for bed, and the wind-whipped remnants of an old Fire Tower.
Just as the sun set, I pitched my tent, scarfed a Clif Bar, dodged a very curious owl, and it was time to get a few photos of the moon. Up till midnight, then awake at 6, there are plenty of photos to share with you… I laughed my butt off watching the video, where I demonstrate how far i have to get with a wedding gown on , and a 30 second timer. The scenery is stunning, me running is amusing, and then there was that RIP that can be heard from 30 seconds away. I tore quite a hole in the train of that gown. IT’s been well worn, torn and used, and it’s giving me a run for my money, as I realize just what kind of hell this project is gonna be. Who’s idea was it to hike in Wedding Gowns anyhow?
I arrived home 24 hours after I left. Time and time again, I’m amazed at what STUNNING and AMUSING things I can do in such a short period of time, living in this somewhat secret little corner of the world…
The Best Way to Get a Dress
All grungy and a work attired mess, I entered the Bank Friday, the bubbly employee asked me if I was doing anything fun this weekend. “Working Saturday and running around in dresses Sunday”, I replied. Her brief pause, my quick explanation, and hey! She has a Gown layin’ around I can have! … When I least expect a cool reaction is when I get the warmest replies.
Sitting Pretty …
There hasn’t been a simple way to direct people to the project, so I’ve added one more thing to my to-do list. Creating a website, so all the info and links are together, with a much simpler Web Address to send people to. This will be up soon, i hope. Simple, because I”m not a computer pro, but it’ll be easy to find, at least. So sit pretty, There’ll be more to come. I have plenty of photos and stories to share from my trip to Missouri.

My Kitchen Is Now The Closet
I finally hung them. I wasn’t giving up my closet space for them. So here they are in the kitchen… (yes the kitchen, there’s only 3 rooms, and I wanted a spot where i wouldn’t have to look at them all the time…. I think about it enough. Featured dresses: ‘the Jazmine’, ‘The Helena’, ‘the chuck’, ‘the Glenda/Lola’, The Dumpster Scary Ugly Can’t do Shit with it”, ‘The Hells Canyon shot’ Gown that started it all – from the dumpster too, ‘The Noud’ a.k.a. left behind in a rental’, ‘The Shelly’, ‘the Dumpster find, not really a wedding gown’, ‘the Julia’ aka Dyed Red 55 gal drum Dress’
