The last gown, Jorie’s gown was frustrating at times. I had it pulled up, clipped up, sometimes attached to my pack, anything to
keep it up and out of the way. The heavy fabric left me warmer than I would have liked to be. When I modified it and put the zipper in back, I thought I would have lost a little more weight, so all of the huffing and puffing left me feeling restricted…. and lookin’ pretty frumpy LOL.
I lined up most of the gowns that were heavier to hit in the Sierras where climbing and hiking is more difficult and technical (I wasn’t prepared for the difficult time I would have with elevation and oxygen issues ). The next gown, Geri’s gown weighs nearly 6 lbs, layered and beaded, I expect it’s going to be very difficult to hike in for nearly 130 miles to Mammoth Lakes.
